Ubisoft have named Drew Holmes to be taking over as the lead for the Far Cry franchise after previous boss, Dan Hay, left the company in 2021. Holmes is best known as the writer for Bioshock Infinite and its DLC, Burial at Sea.
Holmes has been with Ubisoft since 2016, where he was the lead writer for Far Cry 5 and its follow-up, New Dawn. Before working there, he worked on the aforementioned Bioshock series as well as with developer Volition, working as a writer on franchises such as Saints Row and Red Faction.
“It’s been an exciting few months… I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as IP Director of FAR CRY at Ubisoft! We have big things in store :) Don’t hesitate to reach out if you want to be a part of the next evolution of this great brand!” Holmes said on LinkedIn.
While the latest game has yet to be officially announced yet, you can check out their most recent entry with Far Cry 6, a title which Holmes had no involvement in. It is available on Windows PC (via Epic Games Store, and UPlay), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
