ARK series publisher Snail Games has announced For The Stars, a new “open universe” space sandbox game
For the Stars is in development for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, though a release date wasn’t announced.
Players will be able to explore and settle a universe of diverse planets, discover alien tech and research new tech, customize their spacecraft, get into space battles, and more.
“We’re thrilled to finally officially announce For The Stars after three years of development,” For The Stars game director Primus Majda said in a press release. “We are gamers first and foremost. We love survival games and Snail has a lot of experience with them. We have an ambitious game in mind, and we are taking what we’ve learned from other projects to make it happen. Our goal is to create a game that’s played like a sandbox survival game but has the impact of a 4x galaxy civilization game.”
