Flipping Death Announced for Nintendo Switch

Independent Swedish developer Zoink Games (Zombie Vikings, Stick it to the Man) have announced their latest game, Flipping Death.

Built in the same vein and even considered a spiritual successor to their previous outing, Stick it to the Manthe new game is set for a release on the Nintendo Switch and “other platforms.” In the game, you’ll enter a town where Death has taken a hiatus.

Featured above, you can view its debut trailer. Here’s a rundown on the game, via Zoink:

With Flipping Death, we want to let you into the twisted, rich and colorful worlds of Flatwood Peaks and The Otherside. The Otherside, you might wonder, what on earth is that? Well, it’s not quite on earth at all. It’s on – you guessed it – the other side of it. And with the click of a button, you can turn the worlds around to reveal their secrets!

Flip and Possess

But things are quite different on the Otherside. What was a hill can suddenly become a creepy mansion, and that cute little car a horrible monster. It’s also a home for ghosts. Ghosts with issues, finding it hard to move along. And that’s where Penny comes in. Penny, who accidentally ends up with the grim reapers job when he takes a much needed vacation. Suddenly, she gets the power to possess and control the people still alive in Flatwood Peaks, a nifty trick that turns out to be quite handy.

Coming to Nintendo Switch

In many ways, Flipping Death is a spiritual successor to Stick It to The Man! Once again, we have joined forces with the amazing writer Ryan North (known for his work on Adventure Time and his own Dinosaur Comics) to create a world full of quirky characters and odd surprises.

Flipping Death will be available for the Nintendo Switch as well as other platforms. We don’t have a release date yet, but we’ll tell you more in the upcoming months. We hope you’re as excited as we are about this upcoming title! It will be flipping awesome

Wow, actual originality, humor and neat gameplay.

Yup, can’t wait for people to shit on it because it doesn’t look like your average indie-shit 8bit game.

The way I see it is that 2D games are moving away from being dominated by 8-bit cover albums to 16-bit and beyond so I don’t see it getting shat on that much.

Stick it to the Man was an interesting adventure game with some great humour, so this has the potential to be pretty good.

The switch will have no AAA games but will instead have dozens upon dozens of shitty indie games and low budget clones.
