Following the recent announcement of a Gravity Rush sequel for PlayStation 4, fans have been wondering just exactly what is going on in Kat’s world of anti-gravity, superpowers, and more.

Now, we’ve gotten the first story details for the game via this week’s Famitsu.

The game’s story takes place just after the conclusion of the original. Kat is accompanied by Syd and Raven to look into a weird gravity oddity that is appearing in the higher levels of the city. They end up getting trapped in a gravity storm, and get whisked away to another location.

Kat and her companions find themselves in a new world, beginning in a new town dubbed “Banga Village.” The entire group is put to forced manual labor, harvesting gravity stones. Syd makes a return as well, although he’s no longer a police officer – he gets stuck mining with Kat and the gang.

Gravity Rush 2 is currently in development for PlayStation 4, with a release window set for sometime next year, worldwide.
