We’ve learned (via VG247) that Sony apparently has first-party development studios working on PS Vita games, despite previous reports saying the company has moved on to focus entirely on the PlayStation 4.
The question regarding first-party support for the handheld came up during an interview with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s Jim Ryan, who said the company still has content in the works for the handheld.
“We’re no longer in the business of triple-A development of games for Vita,” Ryan said. “But there is still first-party Vita contentbeing worked upon.”
While Ryan did not confirm what sort of games to expect, it’s worth mentioning the PS Vita was mostly absent during their recent Paris Games Week presentation. It’s also worth mentioning that Sony worldwide studios boss Shuhei Yoshida recently said the “climate is not healthy” for a PS Vita successor.
