Marvelous AQL has published the first official screenshots for their upcoming brand new IP, IA/VT Colorful, which is being helmed by Senran Kagura producer Kenichiro Takaki.

The game is a vocaloid game, featuring the character IA, and it features what they call “sound catching rhythm action”, which I liken to a combination of the gameplay from Hatsune Miku and Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy. Basically, you have to line up the on screen cursor to the musical notes as they move onto the screen, while pressing the appropriate face button.

IA/VT Colorful will feature 60 songs in total, but it will launch with only 29 songs, however lots of the videos featured in the songs will be totally original and unique.

IA/VT Colorful is launching on July 31st in Japan.
