NetherRealm Studios have announced the first post-launch, downloadable content fighters to be added to Injustice 2.
The new “Fighter Pack” will bring with it Mortal Kombat guest character Sub-Zero, Red Hood, and Starfire. Featured above, you can view the announcement trailer for all three fighters.
If you own the Digital Deluxe or Ultimate Edition of Injustice 2, you’ll get Fighter Pack 1 at no additional cost. NetherRealm are planning at least six more characters, which are also included in the Ultimate Edition.
While a release date for Fighter Pack 1 wasn’t announced, Injustice 2 is launching for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 16th.
Just Some Guy
May 5, 2017 at 12:38 pmAh, Sub-Zero. My favorite superhero.

May 5, 2017 at 12:46 pmSo not only do they announce the DLC 2 weeks before release making it seem that those characters were cut out, but they’ve learned nothing from the first Injustice. Fans were disappointed that Scorpion took a slot from what could’ve been a DC character and now they are including both Sub-Zero and Raiden. Brilliant.

May 5, 2017 at 12:48 pmStarfire was stuck in the Phantom Zone with a dying Superboy, doesn’t that mean Superboy is dead? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/3eeeb3226d7ce135424a9709b7779af38b30dbdea74536fcb7b68070ef6bda7c.jpg

May 5, 2017 at 12:49 pmIsn’t Captain Cold enough? We don’t need Sub-Zero and I think there are more people asking for Static than Raiden. Oh well, Starfire looks decent and holy shit, she’s showing lots of skin! At least Netherrealm knows who’s buying their games.

May 5, 2017 at 1:20 pmYeah, I get this spawned from Mortal Kombat, but do we really need to waste a spot on Sub Zero?
Forgotten One
May 5, 2017 at 1:48 pmWell Ed Boon did said that Scorpion was the most popular DLC on the first game

May 5, 2017 at 1:50 pmWell, people love guest characters, as present in the last 2 MK games. And, since Netherrealm is involved, of course Injustice will have guest characters.

May 5, 2017 at 1:57 pmI like that starfire is actually showing skin considering she’s a slut, but did they make her black in this game or am I missing something?
Mr0303
May 5, 2017 at 2:40 pmSure in MK people enjoy guests, they weren’t too happy with Scorpion taking a place in Injustice since there are plenty of DC characters that could’ve been in there, so one would assume that the season pass would include mainly DC characters. Not to mention that 2 MK characters is excessive.

May 5, 2017 at 2:56 pmI just can’t put my finger on who Star Fire’s face reminds me of…

May 5, 2017 at 3:05 pmOn the bright side, since Sub-Zero won his poll, that means Spawn will show up in a game for the first time since SoulCaliber.
Mr0303
May 5, 2017 at 3:56 pmThat’s not a guarantee. They don’t own the rights to Spawn, but can include all the MK characters they want.

May 5, 2017 at 4:41 pmI like Mortal Kombat, but this is kind of annoying. Sub-Zero is in every Mortal Kombat game ever with very little changes to his move set. Featuring him as a guest in a game made by the same studio just seems excessive. If they wanted to do a guest character they could at least pick an MK character that hasn’t been done to death.

May 5, 2017 at 5:08 pmI’m seeing Raiden in the background too.

May 5, 2017 at 7:36 pmConsidering that Joker is in this game, I figure that there probably has more alternate worlds crossing over unless he came back from the dead. If it’s not an alternate universe scenario, I would take it the comic isn’t canon anymore. Aside from Starfire, if I recall correctly, Swamp Thing, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Doctor Fate and Black Canary were also written off in the comic as well.

May 5, 2017 at 8:22 pmHalf this game’s roster is supposed to be dead. They clearly don’t give a crap about their own canon. They’re just gonna use the multiverse crutch again.

May 5, 2017 at 8:59 pmIs it just me, or are the character designs a bit off?

May 5, 2017 at 9:04 pmQue SJW butthurt about Starfire in 3…2…… https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/493258fe414ab21d55bc07ffb9a95221939d29f0eec90c882eb43d63ed3abb58.jpg

May 6, 2017 at 12:55 amI know, but don’t they just have to go to Spawn’s creator to license the character?

May 6, 2017 at 5:06 amI thought that as well, but that was after I wrote the comment. Oh well – regardless, it’s clear Western devs are afraid to make sexy female characters, if even Starfire isn’t that hot.

May 6, 2017 at 6:58 pmKinda weird to see Starfire grownup when I’ve only seen the old Teen Titans cartoon.

May 7, 2017 at 8:56 pmIt’s Netherealm Studios, they’ve been “off” since Mortal Kombat 9.

May 8, 2017 at 1:03 pmMan, I watched Teen Titans as a kid and then was so surprised that Starfire’s backstory includes her being a sex slave at one point.
