First Info for Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni on PS Vita

This week’s Famitsu (via Hachima Kikou) has given us the first details for Marvelous and Kenichiro Takaki’s upcoming game, Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni.

The new game is coming to Playstation Vita, and it’s a third of Marvelous’ and Takaki-san’s bold new trans-media Valkyrie Drive franchise. The story in the game occurs in a world of young adults who become infected with a virus that temporarily weaponizes them (quite literally, if you watch the TV anime’s trailer) upon being neurologically stimulated.

The core story, however, is centered on a group of girls known as the “Rebreakers,” who are able to freely utilize the virus-borne human weapons. The gameplay pans out via the girls fighting large groups of enemies in pairs of two, which Famitsu describes as “3D battle action.”

When the girls battle together, their bond strengthens and their combos and type of weapons change. The battles and their conditions are teased as being dynamic, where things can change in mid-fight. There are powerful special attacks that can be unleashed, and of course – they will tear up the clothes of both your allies and foes.

Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni is coming some time later this year in Japan.
