First Gameplay for Command & Conquer: Remastered

Electronic Arts and developer Petroglyph Games have shared the first look at gameplay for Command & Conquer: Remastered.

While the above gameplay is only 30 seconds long, it directly compares the original visuals to the newly remastered visuals, and shows off some GDI and Nod units engaging in battle.

The remaster for Command & Conquer will let you switch between the original 320×200 visuals or the remaster, and will support displays up to 4K resolution. You can also zoom in, which the original game wouldn’t let you do. The quickness with switching between visual styles comes from the remaster being still built with 2D sprites.

You can view more comparison gameplay over on the game’s official site. Petroglyph did note that the above footage is still a work in progress, and they’re “continuing to fix bugs and polish items based on feedback from our colleagues, the Community Council, and all of you.”

Command & Conquer: Remastered still doesn’t have a release date, but is currently in development for Windows PC.
