Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions have published the first episode of the creator’s new video series, HideoTube.
Featured above, the inaugural episode doesn’t really talk about his new game, instead Kojima talks up his top ten movies of 2015, and how they influence him as a creator.
His top ten movies include:
- Mad Max: Fury Road
- Whiplash
- Kingsman: the Secret Service
- Locke
- Nightcrawler
- Shaun the Sheep the Movie
- The Intern
- Straight Outta Compton
- Fires on the Plain
- Star Wars: The Force Awakens
It’s not surprising that Mad Max: Fury Road is his favorite movie of last year – he regularly praises it on social media and has watched it over a dozen times. His guest for this episode is writer Kenji Yano.
While the entire episode is in Japanese, Kojima Productions producer Ken-Ichiro Imaizumi has encouraged fans to make use of YouTube’s fan translation feature (Editor’s note: they’ve partially subbed it with translations).
