The long wait for the first episode of Muramasa Rebirth’s downloadable content has ended – Fishy Tales of the Nekomata is now available on the American Playstation Network. This episode is the first of four in the Genroku Legends pack of downloadable content for the game.

Europeans don’t have to wait much longer, as the content will be live on the European Playstation Network next Wednesday, January 22nd. Fishy Tales of the Nekomata puts you in the shoes (or paws) of Okoi, a girl who is possessed by the nekomata Miike, forcing her to avenge Miike’s master. Okoi uses both demonic powers and her claws in battle.

Here’s the full official blurb for Fishy Tales of the Nekomata:

Okoi and her brother are tasked with delivering her family’s prized tea set to the shogun. While on their journey, Okoi’s family’s chief retainer hatches a plan to steal the tea set, killing Okoi’s brother along the way. Swearing to avenge her brother’s death and maintain her family’s honor, she becomes a cat-demon. Suddenly, Okoi’s simple delivery service just got more complicated.

New Fighting System – Unlike Muramasa Rebirth, in “Fishy Tales of the Nekomata” Okoi uses her cat claws and a host of other power weapons to battle her enemies. Learn new skills and new demon arts as you take down anyone who stands in your way.

A New Tail – Set in the world of Muramasa Rebirth, “Fishy Tales of the Nekomata” is a completely new story, with new characters and bosses. Influenced by Japanese mythology, “Fishy Tales of the Nekomata” DLC is a must have for any Muramasa fan. With two endings, “Fishy Tales of the Nekomata” isn’t just your normal, run in the mill DLC – it’s a whole new experience!
