While Sega’s Ryu ga Gotoku Studio has just release their latest opus, Judgment, the developer has another Japanese crime-themed game coming – a new Yakuza title starring Ichiban Kasuga. Now we’ve learned the studio is going to finally share the first details on the game early next month.
The news comes via Yakuza series producer Daisuke Sato, who confirmed they’ll be sharing the first details on July 10th (via an interview with Gamebase.com.tw).
In the interview, Sato was asked if series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu could return in the upcoming game, despite the fact that Kasuga is the new protagonist. He responded by noting he cannot answer that question at this time, however they will announce the supporting actress, as well as the first details.
Sega hosted a contest, their first ever for the series, where they looked for a female actress to star as the supporting role in the game.
The new Yakuza title starring Ichiban Kasuga is currently in development for PlayStation 4.
