First Details and Screenshots for Nights of Azure 2

Gust has shared more details on the story and characters for their upcoming sequel Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon.

The game will be released on PS4 and Vita in Japan on December 22nd, but you can check out the new details now below.

Background

In the world still overrun by the blue lood of the Nightlord, Alushe is given the job of a bodyguard to her childhood friend Liliana. As a knight of the Curia, Alushe is more than capable of guarding Liliana until they arrive at their destination – but when they learn that Liliana has been chosen as the “Bride of Time” as a sacrifice for the “Queen of the Moon”, they are crushed.

Though they head toward the Queen’s castle, both are full of sorrow. On the way, however, they are attacked by a demon and Alushe is killed in the attack.

Alushe wakes up later, resurrected by the Curia as an artificial half demon. Liliana has gone missing after the attack, but Alushe head for the city in an effort to rescue her friend – even though she is now plagued by the blue blood.

Characters

Alushe Anatoria

The protagonist. After her death and resurrection, Alushe is gifted with the ability to fight demons on equal footing through the curse of the blue blood in her new half-demon body. She is straightforward and prefers action to discussion. She was childhood friends with both Liliana and Ruhenheid, and is extremely happy to meet them again.

Liliana Selphin

Kind and more prone to words than action, she is a bit of a balancing force for Alushe. Though she is outwardly friendly and kind to a fault, her inner self is strong. She has the ability to slow down the personal time of a given target, and has used the ability to help Alushe fight off demons.

Ruhenheid Ariarod

Childhood friend of both Alushe and Liliana. As a knight of the Lourdes Order, she is opposed to Liliana being used a sacrifice, and stands between Alushe and Liliana and their goal. She wields a special blade called “Mind Sword Oz” that utilizes her emotions as a blade.

Lily System

The new battle system utilizes “Lily”s, helpful other heroines who will fight alongside Alushe in battle. You can choose which Lily will support Alushe depending on the situation and present enemies. Fighting together will deepen Alushe’s bond with the Lily, giving the pair access to new abilities and trigger events between them. Each Lily will change Alushe’s battle style – and there are more Lilys to be announced beyond Liliana and Ruhenheid so stay tuned.
