Final Season Episode Three for Telltale’s The Walking Dead Now Epic Games Store Exclusive on PC

We have learned that The Walking Dead: The Final Season is now only an Epic Games Store exclusive on Windows PC.

Previously slated to be coming to Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch; the title still managed confirmed a release on January 15th, 2019 after Skybound Games took over development from Telltale Games after they filled for liquidation.

Now the title is still coming out in January 15th- and for the aforementioned consoles – but on Windows PC it is now exclusive to the new Epic Games Store. The story mirrors earlier reports of delays and cancellations on Steam being caused by Epic’s sudden rise to rivalry.

Skybound does assure those who bought the game “on any PC platform, your remaining episodes will still download through your original point of purchase on their release dates.”

President of Interactive Dan Murray and Skybound Games CEO Ian Howe issued a joint-statement on working with Epic:

“The team at Epic owns a major chapter in the history of the game industry. We’re excited to work together on their latest transformative event with the launch of the Epic Games Store. Epic stepped up to the plate immediately to work with us in order to bring the original team back together and ensure fans will receive the completed season of TELLTALE’S THE WALKING DEAD: THE FINAL SEASON.”
