Final Fantasy XVI will be PS5 exclusive for 6 months

Square Enix has quietly confirmed that Final Fantasy XVI will be exclusive to PlayStation 5 for much shorter than anticipated.

A new sizzle reel posted by Sony’s PlayStation naturally included Square’s new blockbuster flagship RPG, however, a small disclaimer confirms it will only be exclusive to PS5 for six months.”


“Final Fantasy XVI anticipated summer 2023,” the video states. “PS5 exclusive for six months.” Here’s the trailer:

This naturally means the game will likely hit Windows PC, a Microsoft platform, within its first year. This is much faster than Square’s previous mainline game, Final Fantasy XV, which didn’t come to PC until over a year later.
