Following the resignation of Hajime Tabata from Square Enix and their Luminous Productions studio, the company has appointed a new head of the studio.
Takeshi Aramaki has been named (via Game Watch) head of the studio. Aramaki was lead programmer on Final Fantasy XV, and also helmed development of the game’s Windows PC port.
Previously, Square Enix shifted the focus of development within Luminous Productions to “large-scale, high-quality AAA game titles.” Further details weren’t confirmed, however a LinkedIn profile for a developer within the studio revealed they’re working on a new AAA game for PlayStation 5.
