We’ve gotten an actual update regarding the current progress of Final Fantasy XV.
According to a post by Square Enix programmer Kitade over on the official Final Fantasy XV forums, the game has finished pre-beta development. This means two things: the game is playable entirely from start to finish, and the first half of the game is polished enough to reflect the quality of a complete game.
“We’ve gotten to the point where we can play the game entirely from start to finish,” Kitade said. “Coming from this, everyone on the development staff is able to get a feel for the entire game.”
Finally, Kitade commented on the quality of the first half of the game. “The first half of the game is completed with the quality of a finished product, so you can really feel like you’re playing it in its finished state.”
Final Fantasy XV is launching for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016. We’re supposed to get an official release date at a special event sometime in March 2016.
