Square Enix confirmed the Final Fantasy XIV free trial is coming back very soon, news confirmed in the latest Letter from the Producer broadcast.

The Final Fantasy XIV free trial is coming back on February 22, 2022, following the trial and sales of the game itself being removed later last year. Final Fantasy XIV was finally sold again later last month too – you can read more about that here in our other report.

The reasoning behind the trial for the game and sales of it getting removed was that Final Fantasy XIV servers were totally overwhelmed ever since the release of the recent Endwalker expansion.

As before, the free trial for Final Fantasy XIV will let players enjoy the original content from A Realm Reborn and its Heavensward expansion, and play up to level 60.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for Windows PC, Mac (via the SE Store, and Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and still planned for Xbox One. In case you missed it, you can find our Endwalker expansion review here (we can’t recommend it enough!)
