Final Fantasy XIV – Final Fantasy XV Collaboration Event Guide

Final Fantasy XIV Final Fantasy XV Collaboration

Noctis returns to Eorzea in the A Nocturne for Heroes event, bringing back three exclusive quests as well as some extra goodies.

If you are not in the loop, this is a repeating event collaboration that Final Fantasy XIV hosts roughly once a year. The event first debuted around 2019, but the quests are made available yearly so new players don’t miss out on the collaboration items.

A Nocturne for Heroes is a three-part quest in which Final Fantasy XV‘s protagonist, Noctis, finds himself being transported to the lands of Eorzea. His time there is brief, but full of conflict, having to deal with Magitek troops and reawakened Primals.

To participate in the event, players need to have reached at least level 50 and must have completed the main scenario quest “The Ultimate Weapon”. If those requirements have been met, then the first quest, “The Man in Black”, can be picked up in Ul’dah, Steps of Nald.

If you got lost in the quest chain, then you can check your journal log and see what event quests count as having been completed already. The first two quests are picked up from Kipih Jakkya in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (X:8.5 Y:9.7), while the last one is picked up from Noctis in New Gridania (X:11.4 Y:11.3).

Players who already completed the last quest in the event chain, “Messenger of the Winds”, can use the Seasonal Event Replay feature to experience the storyline again.

Below you can view the event rewards, as well as how to acquire them:

  • Lucian Prince Cosmetic Armor Set
  • Lucian Locks Hairstyle
  • Noctis Lucis Caelum Triple Triad Card
  • Regalia Type-G Mount
  • A Quick Pit Stop Orchestrion Roll
  • Apocalypsis Noctis Orchestrion Roll
  • Hammerhead Orchestrion Roll
  • Relax and Reflect Orchestrion Roll
  • Valse di Fantastica Orchestrion Roll
  • Veiled in Black Orchestrion Roll

The Lucian Prince set is given to the player as they move through the event quests, making it pretty simple to get. The other items are a little more complicated, but definitely not impossible to acquire either.

The Triple Triad card, Lucian Locks hairstyle and Regalia Type-G mount aren’t quest rewards, and instead need to be purchased inside of the Manderville Gold Saucer. They go for 10,000, 20,000, and 200,000 MGP respectively.

The six Orchestrion Rolls can be acquired by completing the “Like Clockwork” FATE event in Central Thanalan. Each completion rewards you with 1-2 Unidentified Magitek, which can be exchanged for the items. Each Orchestrion Roll costs 1 Unidentified Magitek, meaning that three clears with a Gold score will net you the six songs.

A Nocturne for Heroes is set to run from February 28, 2024, until March 13, 2024. The event will most likely come back next year, but there should be plenty of time to grind the FATEs and MGP needed for all rewards.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Microsoft Windows (through Steam). The game is also available as an open beta on the Xbox Series X/S, with a full release coming Spring 2024. You can check out our review of the latest expansion Endwalker here.
