Now that early access has been opened to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, people are apparently playing the game a lot, and also in large numbers of concurrent users.
Despite the beta hitting an all time high of 150,000 concurrent users at one point, the fact that the early access has already hit 140,000 concurrent users is really promising:
#FF14

This update comes from the director Naoki Yoshida – he announces that there are more than 140,000 concurrent users and that server congestion has stabilized.
What makes this number even more impressive is that the early access opened up around 3-5 AM in the Americas – so presumably a sizeable amount of the American fanbase hasn’t even gotten online yet.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn launches this coming Tuesday, August 27th.
