Final Fantasy XIV Digital Fan Festival 2021 In-Game Events Detailed

Final Fantasy XIV

Square Enix have detailed the in-game events for Final Fantasy XIV, celebrating the upcoming Digital Fan Festival 2021.

From May 14th (until May 21st), a “Fan Festival Group Pose Screenshot Campaign” will launch. Under the hashtags #FFXIVFanFest, #FanFestGpose, and #Sweepstakes; players can take a special Group Pose screenshot in-game, and utilize the Fan Festival 2021 stickers and frames. The Group Pose option allows greater customization of a screenshot, including adjustments to in-game effects, lighting, and more.

2,021 entrants will be randomly selected to win one of four prizes; Noble Barding for their Chocobo mount, the Gaelicap winged cat hat, the Bluebird Earring, or a Cloud Strife hairstyle.

May 14th also sees the launch of the Uznair Challenge. As above, players need to take a screenshot, but this time not necessarily through the Group Pose mode. However, this is to prove they have conquered an Uznair treasure dungeon; a special instance where players fight waves of enemies for loot. As with the other contest, 2,021 entrance will win one of the aforementioned four prizes.

Finally, May 14th to June 14th sees the launch of the Moogle Treasure Festival 2021: The Hunt for Pageantry. By partaking in certain Alliance Raid Dungeons, Raid Dungeons, Trials, Dungeons, and PVP; players can earn Irregular Tombstones. These can then be exchanged for special items. It should be noted free trial players will have access to some of the marked events from the base game, Heavensward, and PVP.

The items include a Great Serpent of Ringa ring, three kinds of Kamuy mount, a Disembodied Head mount, sweating and shivering emotes, Gyr Abanian Plait and Form and Function hairstyles, each of the four parts of the Dancing Mad orchestrition Rolls, a Scarf of Wondrous Wit, and Gobbue, Dodo, Cactuar, Bomb, and Coblyn Earrings.

There are also the Taoist Moogle, Wind-up Ramza, OMG, and Dwarf Rabbit pets, Triple Triad cards (Zenos yae Galvus five star, Susano three star, Lakshmi three star), a set of Augmented Lost Allagan armor of Fending for tank Jobs, and a set of Skallic armor of Healing for healer Jobs. There is also a variety of home decoration items, an MGP Platinum Card for 50,000 MGP, and Magicked Prism that shows the jobs you have mastered.

Along with the art-exhibition, showing off player estates, and recipes for themed-food; the Digital Fan Festival 2021 will include guest panels with the game’s Japanese voice actors. Alongside Yuma Uchida (Crystal Exarch, G’raha Tia), KENN (Urianger, Wedge, Isse), and Hiroki Takahashi (Solus zos Galvus, Emet-Selch); Kamiki Ryunosuke was also announced.

Ryunosuke does not currently have a role within Final Fantasy XIV, so it is likely he may voice an upcoming character. He is known as a prodigy, acting in Japanese media since he was a child for twenty-give years. His roles include Taki Tachibana in Your Name, Kenji Koiso in Summer Wars.

The Digital Fan Festival 2021 runs across May 15th and 16th, with a “Letter from the Producer” on the second day. This typically features more information about upcoming content for Final Fantasy XIV. This will likely include information on Endwalker (launching Fall 2021), including the other new Job appearing alongside the Sage.

The Digital Fan Festival is also likely to show other in-game items coming to the game, such as the recently revealed eight-seat Lunar Whale mount.

Final Fantasy XIV is available to Windows PC, (via the SE Store, and Steam), PlayStation 4, and coming soon to PlayStation 5, and Xbox One. A free trial is available. In case you missed it, you can find our Shadowbringers expansion review here (we can’t recommend it enough!)
