It’s been nearly a year since we’ve heard anything on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth but we’ve finally got a tidbit of news.

According to game producer Yoshinori Kitase, development on the second title in the Final Fantasy VII Remake is going “smoothly and according to plan,” and what’s more – they’re picking a release date.

“Development is progressing smoothly and according to plan,” Kitase said. “We are currently working on nailing down a release date for the game.”

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is set to launch sometime in winter 2023 for PlayStation 5.
