Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming to Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2 alongside news the third game will be multiplatform.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming to Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, though a release date wasn’t announced. The original Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade was confirmed for a January release on both platforms today.
Furthermore, Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is now confirmed for a full multiplatform release across PC, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PlayStation 5, a big change up considering the first two games were timed-exclusive to PlayStation.
“The Final Fantasy VII Remake series will be expanding to major platforms moving forward,” game director Naoki Hamaguchi said. “PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC — we’re committed to making sure players can enjoy each Part in a way that suits their lifestyle. As we approach the final Part, I’m truly grateful that more people will have the opportunity to experience the world we’ve poured our hearts into.”
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was released back in February 2024 for PS5 and in January 2025 for PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store). Check out our review for the game!
