Square Enix has re-released the classic RPG, Final Fantasy VII, for Android devices.
The iconic game is now available for Android devices on the Google Play store, for $15.99.
Originally released in 1997 for the original PlayStation, it later saw a port to PC in 1998. To date, it has sold nearly 10 million units worldwide.
iOS users have had access to the game since August of last year, followed by a PlayStation 4 release in December of last year.

July 7, 2016 at 11:31 amit would be kinda silly to sell it cheaper than on other platforms
on the other hand charging 16 burger coupons for a 20 year old game on ANY platform is quite silly in and of itself

July 7, 2016 at 11:43 amOr you know, just download the ROM for free. Companies have to make older stuff cheaper. $10 is the Max price this game should be on any platform.

July 7, 2016 at 12:26 pmIt doesn’t matter what they charge because people are going to buy it. They might as well price gouge.

July 7, 2016 at 12:44 pmNah, still getting it on PS3 if I ever get one.

July 7, 2016 at 1:17 pmPiracy is bad, but cheaper than paying $15 for a old ass game.

July 7, 2016 at 4:53 pmMight as well wait for the remake.

July 7, 2016 at 5:25 pmi can agree old games should be around 10 buckaroos each, some exceptions might apply, if extra work goes into porting or localization, like in the case of Legends of Heroes Trails in the Sky

July 7, 2016 at 6:51 pmI’m sick of these crappy Square-Enix games on Android. They don’t handle the app lifecycle correctly, so if you get a phone call you can lose progress in-game, and they all have painfully long loading times that make them really hard to pick up and play for a few minutes the way you can with any game on a Vita or 3DS

July 7, 2016 at 7:02 pmStill no Wii U release?
Square, what are you doing? It’s high time you start releasing these games where they belong.
Except VIII. That one sucks and should stay Playstation exclusive.

July 7, 2016 at 7:57 pmNintendo does some wrong too, you know.

July 8, 2016 at 1:05 amNo mention of how they added an option to instantly max your stats and another for no encounters?

I think you mean port instead of games.

July 8, 2016 at 12:41 pmExcept that the re-break is ruining the combat system. I was excited (though I’d wait for the full game instead of this $60 each for three games bullshit) until they announced that turn based combat was being replaced with “run around and spam X” combat.

July 8, 2016 at 2:26 pmLOL, I thought this had already been released on android years ago…

July 8, 2016 at 10:11 pmI don’t really wanna play a port with a bunch of button outlines sprawled all over the screen.

July 9, 2016 at 9:55 amSorry, you’re right; it’s doubly frustrating since they’re some of my favorite games being ruined by half assed porting efforts. The shitty “HD” sprites in the FF6 port were particularly horrible, while we’re on the subject
ProxyDoug
July 9, 2016 at 7:10 pmThat’s why the only port I’ve played so far were the ones made to the PSOne. Can’t stand those sprites that look like they came out of RPGMaker.
