Square Enix has launched a new website to celebrate Final Fantasy IX’s 25th anniversary, which it will hit this summer.

One of the most beloved entries in the golden era of Squaresoft, Final Fantasy IX was originally released nearly twenty-five years ago for the original PlayStation. It has since been re-released to numerous platforms but hasn’t been remastered – yet.

Before you get your hopes up for a remaster, the new website has thus far only confirmed new merchandise and other things to celebrate the classic RPG.

“FINAL FANTASY IX, which was released on July 7, 2000, will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2025,” Square Enix said in a message. “We are preparing various projects, including merchandise and collaborations to commemorate the 25th anniversary, so please look forward to it!”
