Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition

Update:

A new trailer via PlayStation reveals the new release date is also for the west. We have updated the date at the foot of the article, and you can find the release date trailer below.

Original Story:

Square Enix have announced a Japanese release date for Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition, along with the new mimicking feature.

Alongside that announcement, Square Enix also revealed a new feature coming to the new edition. Through “mimicking” (translation: Google Translate), players can use certain items to change their characters appearance and voice to resemble NPCs met during the story.

This can also be used in online multiplayer to “create a caravan of dream combinations not found in the main story!”

Update 2: A new press release (via Games Press) explains exactly how the Mimic feature works. You can find that below.

“Additionally, FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES Remastered Edition introduces a brand-new ‘Mimic’ feature which will allow players to take the form of various characters they meet on their journey. By collecting stamps and visiting Moogle Houses, or completing difficult dungeons, players will acquire unique crystals which will allow them to change their appearance to that of their favorite FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES characters and continue their adventure in style.”

Finally, Square Enix shared the Tokyo Game Show 2019 trailer with the new date. You can find that below.

We will keep you informed as we learn more.

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition will launch August 27th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Android, and iOS. The Android and iOS release date may be subject to change.
