Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 and Kingdom Hearts 4 development going smoothly

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3

Tetsuya Nomura, one of the veterans behind Final Fantasy, told fans to be patient for further news on Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 and the long awaited Kingdom Hearts IV with a tiny update on both games.

Nomura confirmed both titles are making good progress behind the scenes towards the end of their Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis 2nd anniversary livestream. While Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 has been in development for over two years, Kingdom Hearts IV was announced 3 years ago.

The details remain vague, even during the new livestream, director Nomura remained tight-lipped, divulging only the following:

“Looking at the comments, there are some people who are wondering about the third work of the remake series. I heard that Toriyama (Co-director, Motomu Toriyama) said in an interview that something new would be released around Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis’ 2nd anniversary. I wonder if that’s why it’s been like this. It’s going very well. I just can’t say more. If I suddenly say ‘actually’ here, everyone will be surprised (laughs).”

Nomura added, “It’s going very smoothly, and the timing of the release has been decided, and we are proceeding according to this schedule, so please wait with peace of mind.”

The Square Enix boss also had a very brief tease on the development for Kingdom Hearts 4.

“This has also been commented time to time, but the Kingdom Hearts 4 is also proceeding according to the schedule, so please wait,” Nomura said.

It’s worth noting we got a couple new screenshots for Kingdom Hearts IV back in May, though a release window and release platforms aren’t confirmed. Concrete details for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 like a release window and release platforms aren’t confirmed either.
