Square Enix Collective, Sushee, and Forever Entertainment have announced Fear Effect Reinvented.
The new game is a reboot of the original Fear Effect, and it’s coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch sometime next year. Featured above, you can view the game’s announcement trailer.
Sushee, the developer behind the official crowdfunded sequel Fear Effect: Sedna, made the decision to go back to the series’ roots by reverting to fixed camera angles – a commonplace design in PlayStation 1-era games.
They’re poising the reboot as a “true-to-the-original remake” of the first Fear Effect, while also making a few modifications to make the game “more attractive to today’s players,” while also “remaining faithful to the original in terms of features.”
Further details weren’t shared.

August 21, 2017 at 10:19 amSounds like a step in the right direction, Sedna doesn’t even look like Fear Effect,

August 21, 2017 at 10:27 amThey should low key scrap Sedna and focus and making the first 2 games as a duo pack.

August 21, 2017 at 10:36 amI love PS1 games, but have never even heard of this. Definitely checking it out.

August 21, 2017 at 10:37 amProblem is that it was crowdfunded, so people would get mad if they scrapped it. Maybe they can rework it into the traditional style though.

August 21, 2017 at 11:24 amThis might be a better idea than that isometric game a while back.

August 21, 2017 at 12:17 pmLoved the first game. Can’t wait to run around in a towel and distract people with nudity!
That happened in the first game, right? It’s been so long since I played. Still have it and the guide~

August 21, 2017 at 12:18 pmYeah… I will wait cautiously, who knows if they infuse it with SJW garbage, “more attractive to today’s players,” has me worried. As I know the original game I know there are things in it the SJW media would slam hard. Prove me wrong and make it good, and I’ll buy it… if retail that is.

August 21, 2017 at 1:20 pm“more attractive to today’s players”
That used to mean: “We gonna dumb things down for the casuals”
Now it means: “We gonna make sure to remove anything that made the game interesting and unique to avoid triggering snowflakes”
Yeah, I’ll wait for release, no way the story is getting retold without it getting butchered in the current climate.

August 21, 2017 at 1:23 pma lot better of an announcement than that other shit they had going on a while back.

August 21, 2017 at 2:15 pm“while also making a few modifications to make the game “more attractive to today’s players,”!!!!? Never played the original, so I don’t know if it has tank controls! and if the original did that’s what they’re changing then, fine. but if they mean turning this into a PC mess! thene fuck this game and fuck the developers. And no, I’m not referring to personal computers when I say PC!

August 21, 2017 at 3:08 pmso… am I the only one who only knows this game because of that one Lesbian elevator scene?

August 21, 2017 at 4:33 pmMeh. Hannah’s boobs look smaller. And I would have preferred the more colorful cel-shaded artstyle. They should have just crowdfunded Inferno.
evilmajikman
August 21, 2017 at 4:34 pmI disagree. The artstyle in this looks jank.

August 21, 2017 at 4:47 pmWhat…. The character models in Sedna look like a natural evolution from the PS1 graphics to what the characters would look like in todays visuals. This version of Hannah just looks like a bad cosplayer.

August 21, 2017 at 4:58 pmI’m talking gameplay, not visuals.

August 21, 2017 at 5:31 pmwell i can agree with that sorta, shame about the lack of cell shading.
however, i prefer this over that crowfunded thing they had going with the odd camera angle.

August 22, 2017 at 12:32 pm“I’m a lesbian because men are problematic shitlords.”
Not that they’ll go that far (I hope) but irony is a lesbian couple done for titlation in this game was more believable than the shit Mass Effect and walking simulators drag out.
