Fast Racing Neo on Wii U Could Fill That F-Zero Void in Your Life

Shin’en Multimedia have finally shown off some gameplay for their upcoming Wii U racer, Fast Racing Neo.

Featured above, you can view an apportioned look at the game’s E3 2015 demo. It’s worth mentioning this build is reportedly already outdated, so we should be seeing an even better-looking version soon.

The game is highly reminiscent of both the F-Zero and WipEout series, featuring 16 tracks to race on, as well as different weather conditions like space, lava, caves, and more.

Fast Racing Neo is launching some time later this year, on Wii U.

I’m looking forward to this, it’s just a shame we probably won’t be getting F-Zero until the next system, if ever.

This still looks much more Wipeout to me than it does F-Zero. Has its own appeal sure, but it doesn’t really showcase that sense of manic speed GX propelled you along at.

Even by today’s standards I think GX still looks hot, especially if you’ve got the component cables for the Gamecube.

As a die-hard fan of F-Zero (I own the original anime on DVD) and a big fan of GX, I want a new game so bad. I think this game is the closest we’ve seen recently, to that speed. IDK. I want us to review it.

It definitely looks a lot more like Wipeout than F-Zero. With that said, a Wipeout spiritual successor still puts a big ol’ smile on my face.

That reminds me, I really gotta finish the HD campaign of Wipeout HD Fury.

It’s almost as if this game was timed to mock the lack of graphical flair in Starfox Zero…
Btw Brandon, why doesn’t the site have fullpage ads yet? You’ve surely got enough pageviews?

Star Fox is rendering the game twice isn’t it? Third Person on the TV and First Person on the Wii U tablet. That might be why they’re not pushing it graphically with dual rendering already being too hardware intensive.

That’s a good point. Although Mario Kart in multiplayer is rendering the game multiple times too. That still looked a lot better!
