Shin’en Multimedia, the guys behind the mind boggling shmup Nano Assault, are working on a brand new arcade racer for the Wii U dubbed FAST Racing NEO.
While we only have screenshots of the various tracks in game, if their pedigree is anything to go by this game will be the closest thing to a high definition F-Zero that we’re going to get.
Enjoy some more screenshots:
Shin’en Multimedia released the original FAST – Racing League on the Wii back in 2011, a title that easily squeezed as much horsepower out of the already underpowered console as possible.
They’ve listened to fan feedback from the original and have tried to emphasize the bits that players enjoyed, like the phase switching mechanics – as that’s an entirely unique mechanic in Fast Racing.
Lastly, they’ve also toned down the masochistic AI that you encountered in the higher difficulties, as many players were simply not happy with playing against near perfect AI.
We’ll keep you guys posted.
