Developer Level-5 has announced Fantasy Life Online is shutting down in Japan in December 2021.
Fantasy Life Online is shutting down on December 15th at 2 PM Japan time, a little over three years since the game originally launched back in summer 2018 for Japan, for both iOS and Android devices.
Level-5 said this in a statement: “We have made efforts to create a game that customers can enjoy since we started distribution, but we have come to the conclusion that it will be difficult to provide services that satisfy our customers in the future, so we decided to terminate the service.”
Here’s the full message from Level-5:
We sincerely apologize to the management team for the sudden announcement to our customers who have been patronizing us on a daily basis.
We have made efforts to create a game that customers can enjoy since we started distribution, but we have come to the conclusion that it will be difficult to provide services that satisfy our customers in the future, so we decided to terminate the service.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our customers for their patronage and sincerely apologize for this announcement.
It was a short period of time, but thank you for your support.
It’s worth noting that Boltrend Games recently announced plans to release an English language version of the game finally – it remains unclear if the Japanese shutdown will affect this release.
