Remedy Entertainment has finally opened pre-orders for Control Resonant, but not everyone is happy with what comes bundled in the game’s Digital Deluxe Edition.
The upcoming sequel to 2019’s Control launches on September 24, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. However, players quickly noticed a major difference between platforms.
While the $69.99 Digital Deluxe Edition includes 48 hours of early access on PS5, Xbox and PC, players paying the exact same price won’t get that benefit.
Remedy’s Communications Director Thomas Puha clarified this situation with a simple “Yes” when asked whether early access was exclusive to PlayStation.
Aside from the early access period, the Deluxe Edition includes a digital artbook, soundtrack, cosmetic bonuses, an AWE-themed outfit, starter resources, and several other extras. The issue for many fans isn’t the content itself, but the fact that one platform receives additional value despite identical pricing.
Remedy recently showcased Control Resonant during a recent PlayStation State of Play, revealing a release date and a story trailer centered on Dylan Faden and the reality-warped version of Manhattan. The sequel appears set to expand the strange supernatural universe that made the original game a cult favorite.
CONTROL Resonant is set to launch across Windows PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 on September 24th.
