Fans criticize the new Poison Ivy in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League

Fans have finally been given a first look at Poison Ivy in the upcoming game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and she looks quite a bit different than expected.

Poison Ivy is the classic femme fatale who was introduced as a Batman villain in the 1960s. She grew in popularity thanks to her appearances in media like Batman: The Animated Series and the 1997 movie Batman & Robin.

However in stark contrast to her usual appearance, the version of Poison Ivy in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is just a kid.

You can see her reveal at 8:43 in Suicide Squad Insider Episode 2 “Meet the Support Squad” below.

One character puts it aptly that Ivy’s now an “eco-terrorist middle schooler”. The change to Poison Ivy’s character narratively has to do with LexCorp who took the remains of the dead Poison Ivy and apparently grew a new one.

The fan response has been overwhelmingly critical of the new design.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to launch on February 2nd, 2024 across Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
