Famitsu have announced the results of their Fire Emblem: Three Houses popularity poll, and Dimitri and Bernadetta are the most popular male and female characters respectively.
In September 2019, Famitsu held a reader survey, asking which Fire Emblem: Three Houses character was their favorite, who they sided with on their first playthrough, and their first S-Rank relationship.
In the October 2019 issue of Famitsu, the results have been revealed.

Taking a look at the average results, the Blue Lions score highest with 741.125, the Yellow Deer score 624.75, the Black Eagles score 456.375, and using those strongest affiliated with the Church of Seiros, they also score an average result of 182.6.
Across all the houses, only Ignatz of the Yellow Deer did not make the popularity poll. Even the Gatekeeper and a few other non-playable characters made the grade above him!

The Black Eagles have the most entries at four, with the Blue Lions at three, with the Yellow Deer having two. However, if you assign points to this chart (1st = 10 points, 2nd = 9 points, etc.) the results are quite different. Yellow Deer have an average result of 7, Black Eagles have 5.25, and Blue Lions have 4.3. Though with only a sample size of the top 10 for male and female, it may not be an accurate measurement of romantic popularity.
