Netflix is Making a Family-Friendly Witcher Spinoff Series

Family-Friendly Witcher Spinoff

This past weekend Netflix held their Netflix Tudum broadcast, a live show confirming details on their latest offerings. One announcement is turning heads – Netflix is making a family-friendly Witcher spinoff series.

While news of a family-friendly Witcher spinoff is certainly unexpected, it’s not entirely surprising considering Netflix is doing a number of spinoffs based on the IP like the Blood Origin prequel series, the anime movie, and more.

New announcements also confirmed a second anime movie coming after the recently released Nightmare of the Wolf film, and that the main Witcher TV series third season is officially happening. Its second season will premiere on December 17th of this year.

Here’s a video including a sneak peek at the Blood Origin spinoff series, as well as talk of the other news:

The final entry in the game adaptations, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is available for Windows PC (via GOGOrigin, and Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. In case you missed it, you can read our review for the base game here. We highly recommend it! In fact, it was Game of the Year 2015!
