Fallout TV show officially renewed for season 2

Fallout TV show

Hot on the heels of its worldwide premiere, Amazon has officially announced their Fallout TV show has been renewed for a second season.

The original season for their Fallout TV show ran for ten episodes and ended on a pretty open and predictable cliffhanger, setting up the show to be continued. Earlier reports confirmed that funding for another season was confirmed, though today’s announcement seals the deal.

If you’ve been living under a rock (or perhaps in a fallout shelter) the series is based on the popular Fallout games of the same name, set centuries after the nuclear holocaust. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner are creators, executive producers, and showrunners while Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy executive produce via Kilter Films, under an overall deal at Amazon.

“Praise be to our insanely brilliant showrunners, Geneva and Graham, to our kick-ass cast, to Todd and James and all the legends at Bethesda, and to Jen, Vernon and the amazing team at Amazon for their incredible support of this show,” Nolan and Joy said. “We can’t wait to blow up the world all over again.”

Here’s a full look at a promo shot for the second season:

Ella Purnell stars in the series as Vault 33 resident Lucy MacLean, alongside Aaron Moten as Brotherhood of Steel recruit Maximus, Walton Goggins as the Ghoul, Moisés Arias as Norm MacLean (Lucy’s brother), Sarita Choudhury as Lee Moldaver, Michael Emerson as Dr. Siggi Wilzig, Leslie Uggams as Betty Pearson, Frances Turner as Barb Howard, Dave Register as Chet, and more.

Amazon has confirmed the original season for Fallout took the top spot as the most-watch season of TV on their platform since the original season for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Get our thoughts on Amazon’s LOTR: The Rings of Power show here.

Their Fallout TV show is available to stream exclusively via Amazon Prime Video.
