Fallout Patents Reveal Possible Sequel & Anthology [UPDATE]

[UPDATE: Bethesda has confirmed this is, in fact, a hoax. Sad news.]

Though it might straddle the line between Niche and not-so-niche a little too much for some, the Fallout series is one that is very near and dear to my heart.

That’s why, with the recent news concerning the German Fallout “Shadows of Boston” trademark, I’m quivering with anticipation. Although many are already scoffing at the news, keep in mind that we had those old Boston rumors first circulating on Reddit in 2012.

Of course, this is hard to believe since we’ve already been burnt once before, but as they say … where there is smoke, there is fire.

Somewhat more believable, however, is the news that along with that patent was another one that seems to point to an “Ultimate Fallout Collection”. This sounds awfully reminiscent of Bethesda’s recently-released Elder Scrolls Anthology that included the entire series in one brilliant package. We could see the same thing being done for Fallout, which has just as much a storied past as Bethesda’s flagship series.
