Fallout: New Vegas mod adds the Elden Ring message system

We’ve learned a new Fallout: New Vegas mod adds the Elden Ring message system, enabling players to similarly troll or help players in the single-player RPG.

As with the Souls-like games, the new mod lets players leave messages to other players with the mod installed via little sheets of paper on the ground. Infamous messages from Elden Ring include trollish things like “Try finger but hole” or “Try jumping”, among others like “Liar ahead.”

The new Building Bridges mod was made by modder Tomminfinite to mimic the Souls series asynchronous multiplayer feature, which lets you leave the mentioned notes anywhere in the game world, separate from any actual multiplayer component.

Here’s a video showing off the new mod’s functionality:

“People can leave likes to your message increasing the rating of the message and your rating as well,” the mod’s official page reads. “Rating gives you levels. With each new level you have more messages you can place at the same time and your messages can be longer. You can’t see whose messages you are liking and the same goes for everybody else.”

While this new Fallout: New Vegas mod adds the Elden Ring message system, such functionality has been around since the first Demon’s Souls game, a modern take by FromSoftware on their classic King’s Field series. Now that Elden Ring is insanely popular, though, expect more of that series to bleed over into other games and media – like Bandai Namco is now officially teasing.

Fallout: New Vegas was released back in 2010 for Windows PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. The game has received an absurd amount of support from fans since then via other mods, improvements, and conversion mods too.

In related news, a Fallout: New Vegas sequel is reportedly being discussed by Microsoft, as they’ve owned New Vegas developer Obsidian Entertainment since 2018 and also now own Fallout IP holder Bethesda Softworks.

Elden Ring is available now across Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough and spoiler-free review and video review for Elden Ring here – we also thought it’s excellent and highly recommended!
