Fallout: Bakersfield first-person mod resurfaces with a new trailer

Alexander “Red888guns” Berezin has released a new trailer for his upcoming project Fallout: Bakersfield.

This GZDoom WAD was first teased back in 2022 and made waves in the gaming sphere, promising gamers the old school Fallout experience in first person.

Alexander is known for his work on 2020’s Fallout: Sonora environment tilesets and talking heads. Fallout: Sonora is considered to be one of the top rated Fallout 2 total conversion mods to date.

Fallout: Bakersfield is a personal side project, not meant to generate any revenue for him or his co-developer Denis Berezin. They are, however, accepting donations.

This WAD is unlikely to encompass the entire original Fallout map, both teaser and the new trailer seem to be set in Necropolis, a location from the original game with Harry, Set and all.

According to the final portion of this new trailer, development progress seems to be at ~60% and the release date is teased around 2027.

Check out the new trailer:

The developer is also working with New Blood Interactive on a currently unnamed seedy retro-futuristic CRPG (think Fallout, but without the nuclear fallout).

Considering his portfolio of faithfully recreated UI elements and concept renders of 90’s RPGs, he does seem to be the perfect fit for such a title.
