Fans have been modding the ever-loving crap out of Fallout 4 like they do most Bethesda RPGs, however some fans have been trying to recreate Fallout: New Vegas within the Fallout 4 engine, and the results in the latest trailer are stunning.

The new mod includes a wide range of already created mods as well as a totally revamped overworld that recreates the Mojave desert, its signature locales, characters, monsters, and more. Painstaking attention to detail has been put into the project, including totally new voice acting.

The new gameplay trailer shows the culmination of the fans and their work, and was released today, October 19th, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original Fallout New Vegas.

Here’s the new trailer:

It’s also worth mentioning the official Fallout social has actually acknowledged Fallout: New Vegas, years after the game’s release – and after Microsoft has acquired both Obsidian Entertainment (the developer on Fallout: New Vegas) and Bethesda Game Studios (the developer on the mainline games since Fallout 3).

Bethesda boss Todd Howard previously said another third-party Fallout game is “less likely” to happen these days. Perhaps that will change now that both Obsidian Entertainment and Bethesda are under Microsoft’s legal umbrella? Only time will tell. Would you like a new Fallout from a non-Bethesda studio?
