Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Gets an Official Godzilla Costume on Godzilla Day

Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Mediatonic have announced another guest costume for Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, and it’s none other than the legendary kaiju himself, Godzilla.

The Godzilla costume is being added to the in-game Fall Guys shop just in time for Godzilla Day, which is November 3rd. This is naturally to commemorate the premiere of the original Godzilla film, which aired back on November 3rd, 1954. Japan celebrates this holiday every year as the birthday of Godzilla, with various festivities and events.

Godzilla isn’t the first guest costume in the game, following other iconic characters like Sonic the Hedgehog and even Portal 2’s P-Body.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Mediatonic on this Godzilla costume. With only two months since launch and boasting millions of players worldwide, Fall Guys presents such an exciting opportunity for Godzilla fans everywhere,” said Lora Cohn, Managing Director, Toho International, Inc. “Now, players will get to celebrate Godzilla Day in such a unique way by putting on the Godzilla suit and stomping their way to victory.”

“There are many parallels to be drawn between the mighty Godzilla and an average Fall Guy; they are both fiercely competitive, they battle on an international stage with incredibly high stakes, they always get back up after being knocked down, and according to worrying reports from our social media channels, they are both much taller than you’d expect,” said Jeff Tanton, VP of Creative, Mediatonic. “We are proud and deeply honored to share the stage with the greatest Kaiju – and if anyone is still struggling to get a crown with this costume, though it may sound primitive and un-scientific, we recommend that through the fairies, they could perhaps ask Infant Island for help?”

In related news, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout sold over 7 million units on Steam, and has become the most downloaded PS Plus game.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is available now on Windows PC (via Steam) and PlayStation 4. You can read our review of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout here (we recommend it!). The game’s second season launched on October 8th, adding new costumes and Rounds- the minigames within the game.
