Developer Mediatonic have announced they will add four costumes to Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, after their Battle of the Brands raised $1 million USD for charity.
The Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Twitter account had begun a “Battle of the Brands” on August 17th. The “brand” who was willing to donate the highest amount to Special Effect (a UK charity helping those with physical disabilities play video games) by August 31st would have their costume added to the game.
This was likely capitalizing on the high amount of fan and brand-made Fall Guy costume designs, while also supporting a charitable cause. Now the winner has been announced, or rather winners.
While originally intended to be for one brand, previous highest-bid holder and streamer Ninja proposed teaming up with several others for a larger bid. This resulted in a last minute $1 million USD donation [1, 2] from Ninja, YouTuber Mr. Beast, Esports organization G2Esports, and the developers of FPS training game Aim Lab.
“Raising $1 million for @SpecialEffect will have such an INCREDIBLE impact,” the Fall Guys Twitter account stated. “We’ll now sort out the donations while our artists start to collab with the winners on their skins! YES! We will include 4 costumes as a special thank you to the amazing people that made this possible.”
