Fairy Tail: Dungeons coming to Switch in 2026

Fairy Tail: Dungeons

Publisher Kodansha and developer ginolabo announced a Switch version for Fairy Tail: Dungeons, their deck-building roguelite featuring characters from the Fairy Tail series.

The new Switch version for Fairy Tail: Dungeons is coming on January 7th, 2026 alongside a big update for the PC version.

“We wanted our first major content update to be massive,” said creator gino in a press release. “Fans of the series will enjoy a refreshed, upgraded gameplay experience. The Nintendo Switch is perfect for quick dungeon-diving sessions, and we look forward to welcoming a new console community into the action!”

Fairy Tail Dungeons was originally released for Windows PC (via Steam) back in August 2024.

Here’s a rundown on the new update:

Whether a first-time player on Nintendo Switch or returning for new challenges on PC, form a tenacious trio, build a deck of magic cards, and navigate an underground maze filled with treasures and secrets. Battle brutes blocking the path forward in strategic, turn-based combat. Play cards in a specific order to activate Magic Chains for a massive damage boost, and upgrade cards and skillsets after each run.

DUNGEONS’ first major content update since PC launch invites five new heroes to monster-filled dungeon dives, all unlockable through gameplay: Gajeel, Juvia, Mirajane, Laxus, and Gildarts. Countless new battle strategies await with the addition of 200+ amulets, 170+ magic cards, 100+ skills, 50 Labyrinth quests, 30 monsters, and 20 items.

Return to the depths with the newly added Special Labyrinth Exploration. Test skills with higher difficulty levels in the Labyrinth and Abyssal Conquest modes, or focus on the story in the new casual mode. Fuse duplicate cards together with the new card upgrade system, and enjoy quality-of-life updates like UI improvements, additional control schemes, and much more.
