Exogenesis: The Post Apocalyptic, Ace Attorney Inspired Visual Novel

Kwan (formerly Argos Studios) have been working on a pretty ambitious visual novel called Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~, which they’ve now put up on Kickstarter. The game is a veritable mix of the best elements of Zero Escape and Ace Attorney, meaning you’ll be experience equal parts crime solving and puzzle solving.

Exogenesis takes place in a post apocalyptic world, featuring protagonist Yudai on his journey to revive his dead sister, Miho. You have to gather up his now disbanded group of scavengers and treasure hunters and attempt to convince them to help you find Noah’s Ark, a mythical device that holds the key to reviving Miho.

The game plays out via point and click adventure game mechanics, and is expected to last around 10 hours or so. The story will be dark, gritty, and filled with lots of tough moral challenges – it’ll also come with tough as nails puzzles, and multiple endings.

Kwan are working alongside Quickfire Games, an indie team that recently successfully Kickstarted their own mature approach on the farming genre in Wild Season.

Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~ is set for a release on PC, Mac, and Linux in Q4 of this year. You can download a demo for the game here, and you can back the game via Kickstarter here.
