Ex-BioWare Writer David Gaider Joins Beamdog As Creative Director

Having just recently left BioWare last month, David Gaider didn’t have to wait very long to find a new job, since he is now creative director at Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition developer Beamdog.

Originally, Gaider was hired to fill the senior writer position, but apparently a talk with studio head Trent Oster ended in an upgrading of that role.

What this means is that Gaider will now be in charge of penning the lore for whatever new titles the company has in the pipeline, which at this point could be anything from a new intellectual property funded by the money created through the sale of their successfully launched enhanced editions, or (if you’re really willing to dream) the often dreamed about third installment of Baldur’s Gate.

Despite his sometimes controversial comments, Gaider has built a tremendous resume with BioWare that stretches from Baldur’s Gate 2 all the way to Dragon Age: Inquisition. With Beamdog closing in on the launch of Dragonspear, this could be the first step in arming up for a new Infinity engine saga.
