Bethesda Softworks has announced a new update for The Evil Within 2 that adds a new first-person mode.
The new free 1.04 update adds the aforementioned first-person mode, as well as some other tweaks.
Here’s the full patch notes:
- Added option to play in First Person Mode.
- Various minor issues fixed.
- [PS4 Pro ONLY] Fixes an issue where the native resolution upgrade included in the v1.03 update may not be properly enabled on 4K displays.
- Now correctly displays native resolution of 2240 x 1260, output at 3840 x 2160 on 4K monitors.
The Evil Within 2 is currently available for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

February 15, 2018 at 3:06 pmI think the problem was that this series basically sold itself as modern Resident Evil but good and then Resident Evil 7 came out and revitalized the brand. Now the The Evil Within doesn’t stand out anymore.

February 15, 2018 at 3:59 pmWas good if you like the genre, though it had an open-world take on it which some didn’t like. I personally did.
Overall I’d put it just behind Nier and Cuphead for 3rd place in 2017. Maybe even slightly above Cuphead.

February 15, 2018 at 4:04 pmIt’s a good game. Nothing that’s gonna blow anyone away, but totally solid. I got 24 hours out of my run and I think it was worth it.
It’s very run-of-the-mill. There isn’t really anything wrong with it, aside from the story and characters being a bit weak, but it’s definitely forgettable. It’s the kinda thing I would’ve rented back in the day and got a good weekend out of.

February 18, 2018 at 1:21 amIt’s better than the first game. It’s a good solid stealth-based survival horror game. I’d score it about 8.0 out of 10.
It’s not going to amaze anyone, but it will satisfy survival horror fans if they’re not too picky.
