The Chinese Room is known for their Dear Esther game, a highly acclaimed and downright pretty game. While they’re working on that new Amnesia game, they’re also working on an exclusive game for Playstation 4 called Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture.
The game is powered by CryEngine 3, and the co-directors Dan Pinchbeck and Jessia Curry both say the game is “all about the story” and that storytelling is done via basic first person exploration, which is used to create a “deep and immersive” experience.
The game starts at the end of the world, where you play the role of a scientist who is trapped in the very second of the apocalypse, the game is all about discovering what has happened. You attempt to trace the origins of the apocalypse be exploring a large, open world environment and interact with objects, places and even other survivors.
