EVE Online is Now Available for Mac

CCP Games has announced EVE Online is now available for Mac, meaning the game is natively playable both on Mac OS and even Apple’s new M1 chip architecture.

While EVE Online is now available for Mac, the long-running space MMORPG of sorts is entirely free to play. Furthermore, CCP has enabled a special daily login reward campaign to all players, with new boosters, skins, and more up for grabs. The new promotion is running until October 19.

EVE Online is heavily influenced and directly added to by its development team based on player feedback and actions, right down to its infamous in-game economy and even turf wars.

The new EVE Online for Mac client brings with it improved graphics and visual effects, reduced RAM and power usage, full support for Mac keyboards & mice, and more improvements and changes overall.

Here’s a new trailer for EVE Online coming to Mac:

Recent changes to EVE Online have been to overhaul and improve the new player experience, further refine and improve their single-shard megaserver infrastructure.

As mentioned earlier, CCP is very keen to follow player feedback closely, as the new Mac client rollout came from rigorous player testing on their Singularity test server. The developer also notes that players on the native Mac client should throw further opinions and feedback over on the EVE Forums.

It’s worth noting that once you install the latest launcher version, the migration from the previous Wine client to the new native Mac client will start automatically, seamlessly enabling players on both Intel-based and M1-based Mac hardware to play the game.

EVE Online has been available for Windows PC and now Mac OS via the game’s official site, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
