Escape From Tarkov Server Wiped and Now Overloaded – How To Fix

Escape From Tarkov Server Wiped

If you are a fan of the Battlestate Games MMOFPS, you are probably aware that the Escape from Tarkov server wiped this morning, removing all progress from players. Now with players frantically trying to get an early start on the fresh server, its queue is overloaded. We’ve prepped up some tips on how to get back into the game.

For those who are unaware that the Escape from Tarkov server wiped, every six months or so the game has its servers wiped clean for a large patch. The latest patch 12.12 is no different, it adds a new map; Lighthouse and adds other new mechanics.

Unfortunately though the mass of players has caused an issue many people are familiar with, which is overloaded servers due to most of the player base trying to log on all at the same time.

This is common and for the new players who might not be familiar the servers can be quite busy for the first few hours. This will likely improve as the day goes on.

Many people have taken to twitter to voice their issues

With some complaining about the influx of players and others seeking to try to find ways around the crowded servers.

Now I’ll explain what some of the error codes mean and how far you are getting into the game:

Error On Get Escape From Tarkov

Error on Get is when you try to open the launcher but it force closes. The best option here is to delete the temp file and possibly delete the config folder however this would force you to reset all of your user setttings.

Error On Post Bad Gateway Escape From Tarkov Error 260

This is different from The Get error The Post error and 260 Error are similar as they both allow you to open the launcher but won’t allow you to update it. Both of these errors only seem to be possibly fixed by deleting your temp files and checking update automatically. You can try to re-install the game from Battlestate Games’ website but other users have had issues with that as well. Personally I just deleted my temp folder and was able to log back in 20 minutes later.

User /u/Zeoxult On reddit had this fix as well “FIX (that works for some): Close out any instances of the launcher running. Go into your \EFT\BsgLauncher folder path, rename “BsgLauncher.exe.config” to something else such as “BsgLauncher.exe.config.old”

Edit: easiest way to find the folder is to right click on launcher > open file location”

A VPN is also an option but not an easy fix for everyone. Keep in mind this will likely get better by the end of the day and as the week goes on. Best of luck and happy hunting!

Escape from Tarkov is currently available from the developer’s official website.
