Epic Games have announced they’re shutting down their third-person MOBA game Paragon.
The free-to-play title will be shut down on April 26th, news coming after its open beta launched in February of last year. Anyone who purchased the game or put money into it can get a full refund, as well.
“After careful consideration, and many difficult internal debates, we feel there isn’t a clear path for us to grow Paragon into a MOBA that retains enough players to be sustainable,” Epic Games said in a statement. “We didn’t execute well enough to deliver on the promise of Paragon. We have failed you — despite the team’s incredibly hard work — and we’re sorry.”
If you put money into the game, you can request a refund from Epic Games via these steps:
- If you’re not playing on PC, link your Epic account (create one if necessary).
- If you play on PC, or have already linked your Epic account, you can request your refund here.
Epic Games also noted the servers will remain online until April 28th, however matchmaking and overall quality of gameplay will drop as whatever’s left of the playerbase will stop playing. The company’s other multiplayer-focused game, Fortnite, is doing quite well actually.
Paragon is available for Windows PC and PlayStation 4.
